Whether you prefer a leisurely hike to the nearest alpine pasture or a challenging summit tour, the new Apart Montagna is the perfect starting point in any case.* Of course a stop at one of the surrounding huts is a must: Sulztal Alm, Amberger Hütte, Nisslalm or Winnebachseehütte are all within direct reach from Gries. Without detours into the alpine pleasure, because when you arrive at the top, local specialities with an all-round mountain view are waiting for you.

Mountain biking on holiday in the Ötztal

For those who prefer to cycle to the Ötztal gourmet delights, there are several mountain bike trails and paths available in Gries. Sweat uphill and whizz downhill, so to speak. The valley floor of Längenfeld and the new Ötztal Cycle Trail, which extends over 50 km through the entire valley, are suitable for less steep rides. There you can do kilometers instead of vertical meters - also with the e-bike. Bicycle and e-bike rentals are available in Längenfeld.

Climbing in Längenfeld

In Längenfeld there are 7 climbing gardens with a total of 200 routes, which guarantee varied hours on the rock. Different levels of difficulty ensure that both beginners and ambitious sports climbers get their money's worth. In addition, there are 2 via ferratas in Längenfeld where you can climb up step by step: Reinhard-Schiestl via ferrata and Lehner waterfall via ferrata. Climbing camps and technique courses - also for families - ensure safety on the rock and impart knowledge about the right behaviour on the mountain. Climbing equipment and expert tips are available at the local mountain sports shops.

Swimming in Längenfeld

What would a summer holiday in the Ötztal valley be without swimming and bathing fun? Even in bad weather; because the thermal spa AQUA DOME is located directly in Längenfeld, only 6 km away from your accommodation in Gries.
